California Rep. Darrell Issa is already eyeing a massive expansion of oversight for next year, including hundreds of hearings; creating new subcommittees; and launching fresh investigations into the bank bailout, the stimulus and, potentially, health care reform.
Issa told POLITICO in an interview that he wants each of his seven subcommittees to hold “one or two hearings each week.”
… Issa also is looking to dig into procurement and government contracting…
Pencil her out: Sen. Dianne Feinstein resigned after six years on the Military Contruction Appropriations subcommittee.
Could that include Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s dirty dealings while on the Senate Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee in which she funneled billions into her husband’s companies? What? You hadn’t heard about that?

How wonderful it would be to have hearings on actual
substantive issues! What a welcome change from the
hearings held by our current crop of “esteemed” reps:
steroids, wrestling, horse racing, baseball, NCAA football
playoff scenarios–& who could possibly forget the spectacle
of a tv comedian appearing, in character, to “testify”
regarding immigration? A travesty!
I agree with you, Elizabeth. Maybe NOW we can get some REAL business done in congress. The last four years have been a colossal joke on the American people. And the pinnacle of that joke was when that comedian appeared, in character, to “testify” regarding immigration. Now THERE’S a subject that needs to be at the top of the agenda. Let’s hope we can get some REAL legislating done this time around.
It is high time, Dottie & Andrea, I think we all agree on that!
Now, we have some serious work ahead for this incoming
class of majority Conservative Republicans & I hope & pray
that they are fully prepared for the task ahead of all of them.
It appears that they are on the right track thus far, by not
giving in to the “pressure” being leveled by MSM & the Obama
admin regarding “bipartisanship” & “compromise”–both of
which were noticeably absent during the preceding 4 years!!

So glad you’re back. I appreciate your effort on the tour, but I miss your regular entries on your site about other things.
