President Bama-lama-ding-dong holds a presser. Pisses off everyone but the Pope, and even there, we’re not quite sure…
Noogie’s nuggets:
Obama blames his fellow Democrats for not taking up the tax cut issue before this, calling them sanctimonious purists. Hah!
Calls Republicans “hostage takers”. Such a uniter, eh?
Is he under attack by members of the Left?
You betcha!
Here’s where he drew his “lines in the sand”:
- 2-yearextension for all income levels
- 1-year reduction of Social Security taxes
- extension of unemployment benefits
Obama calls “tax cuts for the wealthy” Republicans’ “Holy Grail”.
“I’m itching for a fight on a whole range of issues” (with the Republicans)
“My job is to look out for middle class families” (Your job, Mr. President, is to administer the executive branch, defend the Constitution, and protect the Constitutional interests of ALL Americans)
“Option I’d prefer can’t get thru the Senate” (which is Democrat led, by the way…)
“I’m happy to be tested by the Republicans – the American people are behind us.” (ummm, no.)
“We’ve had two years of emergency action on the economy. The situation has now stabilized, except for those still without jobs” . (Earth to Obama…)
“What are we doing about revamping our schools so our children can compete?” (How about abolishing the unconstitutional Dept. of Education?)
“Tax deal will help job growth over several months.” (Not as long as the banks are hoarding cash)
“Don’t think anyone thinks the tax code is fair.” (The one thing I agree with, although not within the context he’s spouting )
“Deal makes high end tax cuts temporary.” (Not if we gain more seats in the House and take over the Senate in 2012)
Reporter asks: “What are your core values, what will you go to the mat on?” (ans: anything that destroys this republic)
“In 2012 we will have had two years to discuss the budget. Over the past 2 years the repubs have had the benefit of watching us deal with the budget. Over the next 2 years they’ll have to show me what they think they can do… if in fact they want to pay for 700bn worth of tax breaks to wealthy individuals… the corresponding tax cuts they’ll have to make will be very painful.” ( Bring it…)
“My core principles.. I’ve got a of bunch of lines in the sand… not making tax cuts for wealthy permanent.” (see above)
