  1. Many good sides to their technology, but…

I used to live about 80 miles from Corning, and have been to the Corning Glass Museum (fascinating). The company is headed by very Left-leaning people, and they put their big money where their mouth is.

Did you notice how the map on the bus stop changed languages when the Chinese woman walked up? Surveillance society. “We know who you are” by the chip in your cell phone. Same for the ads in the store. Jennifer saw her “favorite” choice displayed just for her; therefore, she didn’t see any other choices. They decide, you comply.

    Welcome to THEIR future.

    1. I knew there was a downside to this too. It’s technology. In the wrong hands, it will imprison us. And yes, I did notice the Chinese symbols on the transportation system board. Eerie…

  2. I live there. I think this is what they call gorilla glass, and it’s keeping the company going strong right now. They no longer make dishes and coffee pots; they’re very high tech now. Our daughter used to work in their R&D division (Sullivan Park) working with DNA.

Tom is correct that the company leans left. This is the company that Amo Houghton’s family (RINO retired) began. The same Amo who voted against Clinton impeachment. The same Amo who hosted a fund raiser IN HIS HOME in Corning for HRC.

I will say the company is very generous with this community. For its size, Corning has more amenities than most rural areas.

However, the economy is tanking, and only the upper level “haves” will be able to afford these products. Most of us will be lucky if we have a job.
