Note the interesting point that Ajami makes at the conclusion of his analysis. He suggests (perhaps correctly) that those elements of the ISI in Pakistan who had been protecting Bin Laden realized that by May 1, 2011, this Arab ex-pat had become an irrelevant nuisance who was useless to them, so they simply looked the other way as our fleet of black ops ‘invaders’ swooped in and – essentially – took UBL off of their hands. Time had marched on, and Bin Laden had become an expendable ‘weak horse.’ The ISI removed their night vision goggles, sat back and collectively said, “……….oh well………….”
