Several years ago, we made our way into Boston to participate in the July 4th Boston Pops Fireworks Concert at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade. It’s a gorgeous setting along the banks of the Charles River. Boston’s skyline peeks out amidst the grand and ancient trees bedecked with millions of tiny white lights, creating a place of magic amidst all the history of Boston, cradle of the American Revolution. We spread our blankets and settled in for the evening.
Since that night many years ago, I’ve made it a tradition to watch The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular from the comfort of my Florida home on my TV screen. Later in the evening, I’ll watch the replay of A Capitol Fourth from our nation’s capitol. And somewhere in the middle, I’ll try to watch the classic movie “Yankee Doodle Dandy” on TCM. Whew! Busy night!
