Concord, NH, presidential candidate Mitt Romney speaks to the crowd at Rollins Park, Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011. Bloggers Pete “Da Tech Guy” Ingemi and Stacy “The Other McCain” McCain were at the event, filing after action reports.
Blogging has been light on this trip for several reasons. First, my buddy Dave “Thirdwavedave” Logan has been out of commission due to some serious health issues. Dave has played such an important part of my previous tours, helping me push out the info to our fellow bloggers about the Tea Party Express’ rallies. He’s missed. Tremendously.
For details on Dave’s condition, check the latest post at his site.
Also, I had to leave the tour yesterday, grab a rental car and dash down to my hometown of Salem MA to visit my mother who is ailing and in the hospital. Fortunately, the TPX team was staying in Manchester NH, an hour’s drive south of us and I was able to make the trip in the same day. (I’m sure Sarah understood.)
And finally, the intermittent Internet connection aboard the bus slows down my ability to fly over the keyboard to keep you up to date. But we are now back on track, with an AT&T MiFi Hotspot — thanks to Eric Odom of Grassfire — and while we’re on the road heading to Portland, ME for our next rally, I’m able to write this post.
The weather is iffy — rain from Hurricane Katia is moving through New England, dumping rain and wind directly in our path, but… we’ll persevere! We’ve got plastic rain ponchos, and as long as it’s not pouring out, we’ll “rock into your town”!
Having said all that, I’ll be posting some of the latest from Eric and others, who have been keeping up with the tour and related news. Watch for them!
