Greenville, SC, Nikki Haley & Herman Cain

Greenville, SC for rally! Presidential candidate Herman Cain arrived, posed for photos with us on the bus, and sat down for an interview in front of Eric Odom’s camera.

“The Mainstream media and liberals are trying to influence the conversation,” he said. To the Tea Party movement he offered this advice: “Stay inspired and stay involved.  Don’t let the mainstream media try to intimidate you.”

As for Obama’s speech last night about his “jobs program” to Congress and the nation, Cain said, “We waited 30 months for this? It’s just more of the same rhetoric.  Government spending repackaged in different language.  Bottom line?  I’m not impressed.”

SC governor Nikki Haley spoke, and I must say she was very impressive.  She talked about how she knew she’d be facing challenges of unemployment, etc. when she took office, but never dreamed she’d have to deal with the federal government getting into the state’s business every day.

“What we to see is that we need a President that understands that we don’t need a stimulus!” she said. “These elections matter! The endorsements that matter are YOUR endorsements! Guess what?! In South Carolina  you are going to have to show a picture ID to vote! No more dead people voting!”

I liked what she had to say, and by the crowd’s reaction, they did too.  Not hard to see why she was elected by 52% of the vote.
