It’s been a memorable occasion — flew from Orlando to Boston to attend my mom’s Memorial Mass and family get together at Mom’s favorite place — Winter Island on the Salem Coast.  More than 80 of us gathered for Mass and a luncheon under sunny skies with a comfortable breeze out  of the north that kept things bright and comfortable.  Just as Mom would have ordered it.

While in Salem, DH and I walked through the historic town center area where we visited the old Custom House at the head of Derby Wharf, took photos of the Friendship of Salem, and snapped pics as the mood struck.  (More photos to come in a future post as we approach Independence Day, with so many beautiful colonial-style homes dressed in bunting and flying Old Glory, waving cheerily in the cooling breeze.)

Now I’m at Boston Logan, waiting to board a flight that will take me to Memphis and on to Las Vegas for Wednesday’s RADIOTHON put on by the Campaign to Defeat Obama.  I’ll be hosting the five hour event along with singer/songwriter/patriot Lloyd Marcus and CDBO co-vice chair Selena Owens.

Details of the RADIOTHON can be found here.  I hope you’ll join us. We’ve got some amazing guests lines up, and it will be a fun time as we celebrate the anniversary of our nation’s independence from the yoke of tyranny, and raise funds to do it all over again.

Here are photos of my home town and area north of Boston.  Salem, by the way, is where the first blood was shed in the War for America’s Independence.  Look it up:  Leslie’s Retreat at North River.

Switching gears from an American revolutionary, colonial frame of mind to the bright lights of Vegas.  What a transition! See you there!
