It’s Sunday night, and I’ve just finished posting several photos on my Facebook page from the Wreaths Across America event at Arlington National Cemetery. I went again this year — my third time — to place a wreath (actually two of them) on the graves of our military who rest in peaceful sleep on the rolling hills of what is to me, the most beautiful cemetery in our country. This was the first time my friend Elizabeth Letchworth had participated in the annual event, now in its 20th year. Her late husband Ron is among those who lie at rest at Arlington.
It’s always a poignant event, made even more so for me because it is the first time I’ve gone without ThirdWaveDave being part of it. Though he was never able to physically make the trip, Dave Logan was there in spirit because he loved it, and in fact though he would never want credit for it, he played an important and integral role in making sure Morrill Worcester of the Worcester Wreath Company got the recognition he deserved for what he’s done every year since 1992.
