In 1980 I was in college at Florida Institute of Technology (now called Florida Tech) at their now long-closed campus in Jensen Beach, Florida. First year students had to live in the dorms, which wasn’t exactly thrilling for me as I’d just gotten out of the Marine Corps.
There were some pothead students down the hall who had the Pink Floyd ‘The Wall’ album on repeat I’d swear was 24/7. Their speakers were huge tower style and you could hear it before walking into the dorm.
Needless to say since then I’ve hated Pink Floyd, but I have to say I’m shocked – and glad – that those guys haven’t been brainwashed by their fellow liberal musicians.
Kudos to Pink Floyd. They’ll definitely make a good, strong impact on many of their faithful fans.
And they quoted crosby stills and nash song
Teach your children well
Reminds me of so many songs from my own counter culture youth
Volunteers of America by Jefferson airplane etc…Ball of Confusion is another
Song who’s lyrics are more pertinent today than they were back in the day
Mercy mercy me.. another great anthem
And let’s not forget Jimi hendrix version of the star spangled banner…..ok so I dropped mucho lsd back then but seriously what’s happening with our country isn’t anything new
It’s been a long time coming
(Another reference to a CSNY song)
Pink floyd was way before their time
I saw them live and they had a giant inflatable UFO prop
1969….
Excellent. I have said for, years PF was right telling the teachers leave the kids alone. I wonder if thismwas done back, then or is this the current Brit Floyd that have been together for, years now.
We were Telling the TRUTH and Speaking Loudly of the REALITY of what was happening to all of our lives way back in the 1960s…and 1970s…. just saying…. who listened?

This was the REAL MESSAGE way back when…. The population could see what was changing…. music was so loud, no one could hear it?????
