Why were their hands in front? Kinda like a reverse parade rest. Is that a proper position from the USMC D&C manual? Only reason I ask is I’ve never seen that in the Army
I was an active duty Marine for six years. That stance they were in has NEVER been a Marine Corps stance.
There are three official stances:
*Attention (shoulders squared, legs are together, arms straight down, parallel with the body, hands flat)
*Parade rest (without a rifle the hands are behind the body, hands crossed,feet shoulder-width apart, NOT a position for any random, independent movement)
*At ease (relaxed stance with some flexibility in body movement)
My guess: The Kenyan and a crew of his spineless, cowardly idiots came up with the stance. Clearly none had any military experience or bearing whatsoever, and likely due to their fear of Marines (in the 70’s the hippies declared we killed women and children and ate babies …) they came to the brilliant conclusion that the posed stance would be intimidating.

I’m not technically inclined enough to state it was a holographic projection but I wouldn’t put it past them.

Yes sir Mr. Leather. Correct as usual! I was Navy 1968-1970 assigned to the USMC T.A.D. as a Captains attendant, driver. Parade rest was the waiting posture, Attention on deck as he entered or arrived and at ease assuming the position as directed by the dignitary or Captain/Admiral.
It looked “fake” and setup just like him (Biden/numb nuts).
