Santos Sleeze
Republicans find themselves with a very narrow U.S. House majority, thanks in large part to widespread cheating in the 2022 midterms. New York is one state that yielded decent returns for Republicans, even though I think one seat was snatched away unjustly thanks to standard Democrat tactics. One of the GOP victories went to George Santos, running for New York’s 3rd Congressional District, who apparently made up his entire resume. Santos lied about his educational background, work history, his own family’s Holocaust experience, and probably about rescuing cats and dogs, too. Now Democrats want his head on a pike and have been howling to the moon calling for his resignation since Santos came clean.
THE SIZZLE: NY-3 is one of relatively few blue-to-red flips in an election that should have featured many of them. The lies told by Santos go beyond mere “embellishment,” which he dismissed them as. These are whoppers. This is not rounding up height to the next inch or overstating the prowess of your child at baseball. What I’m honestly most amazed at, is that the Democrat research and slander machine didn’t catch this stuff before he flipped the seat, or when he ran two years ago for the same seat. With integrity lacking to this degree, as well as the poor tactical awareness, I’m confident the Republican majority would do fine without Santos should he resign the seat. I do not like rewarding Democrat demands, especially when the “uniparty” is robbing America blind, but we should be preventing sleezeballs like this from holding critical positions within the Republican Party when it is obvious it is the only vehicle for an America First agenda.
Pence Announces?
A book deal is a pretty good sign a politician has future ambition. When that politician happens to have already been the Vice President, it is common sense that a presidential run is just around the corner. Clearly in the good graces of people like Paul Ryan, Mike Pence is almost certainly going to throw his hat in the ring to challenge Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination. Yesterday, a bogus Federal Election Commission screenshot made the rounds suggesting Pence had jumped into the race just 6 weeks after his former ticket mate did. A Pence spokesperson confirmed this was a hoax, and that the former Vice President has not formally entered the presidential race.
THE SIZZLE: Mike Pence has little chance of even sniffing the Republican nomination in a remotely fair primary, and I honestly doubt he would even make it to the Indiana primary, which comes late in the primary process. This prank appears to have had the intended effect of eliciting the anticipated levels of mockery providing a litmus test for just how unpopular Pence is to the America First base after his failure to even give the old college try in defense of the stolen 2020 presidential election.
WORLD
Orban on Ukraine
Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary, is a populist leader who is unafraid to tell it like it is about corruption, and of late, the Ukraine grift. Leftist media sources decry Orban’s frankness, even though his official position is that a ceasefire is necessary in short time to prevent further chaos. Recently, Orban said:
Ukraine can only continue fighting as long as the United States supports them with money and weapons. If the Americans want peace, then there will be peace.
THE SIZZLE: Ukraine is not capable of withstanding the Russian winter onslaught without outside interference from Western powers. Our treacherous Congress recently pass an Omnibus bill with $45 billion in aid allotted for Ukraine, on top of the countless billions that have already been shoveled at them. It is a fact that Western interventionism is once again one of the main causes of global conflict and world destabilization. Orban is correct – absent a complete capitulation of the Ukrainian defenses, Western support will continue to prolong the war and the fleecing of American citizens.
