Oh, one more thing!

I promised myself I would write to my Congressional representative about his vote in today’s contest for House speakership.

I did:

Good morning, Rep. Posey,

I watched with intent interest Tuesday’s three rounds of votes for the Speakership.  I am delighted to see that we have 20 — 20!!!  — members of the conservative MAGA movement who have stood with their reasoned principles and voted NO against  Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

I might have missed it and if I did I offer an apology, but I didn’t see your name among those 20 who share my concerns that what we face is a helluva fight to take back our country, and that requires a fighter.  A proven fighter.  They don’t see that in McCarthy. Nor do I.

Also, I watched Steve Bannon’s 5 p.m. War Room program and agree with guests Mike Davis of the Article III Project (former clerk for Justice Gorsuch), and John Fund’s take on the situation, especially their characterizations of Mr. McCarthy.

“He doesn’t believe in much, has no ideological core.”

Fund added that few trusted McCarthy seven years ago when he sought the speakership post-Boehner, and that hasn’t changed.  He couldn’t garner enough votes so he never ran.

I hope that after tonight’s lengthy pizza session in the Speaker’s Office which is currently occupied by eager (and presumptuous) McCarthy, the gentleman from California will realize he’s lost the confidence of a significant number of his colleagues, if he ever had it to begin with.

Rep. Posey, if you haven’t already voted for “other”, I’m asking you to cast your vote tomorrow for an alternative — someone who has the fight in him or her, and isn’t beholden to big donors and K street.

It’s a tough decision, and I don’t envy you, Bill, but decision making on something this critically important is why we pay you the big bucks!  😉

Warm regards and best to you.

Happy New Year!

  1. Yeppers, fully agree, he is milquetoast and he hung himself when he bragged about asking Trump to,step, down. That says plenty. And two more words, Frank Luntz.
