A Strange Way to Dress up a MAGA Speech

Hey all! Many of you will notice there was no episode of Badlands Story Hour last night with Chris Paul and I. Our discussion of the time travel film Looper will take place NEXT Tuesday night at 9pm ET.
Last night, however, belonged to the Pretender-in-Chief.
I was asked to join six other members of the Badlands Media team as part of the special event coverage, which we did our best to turn into a bit of a mix between political commentary and a Comedy Central roast of Joe Biden.
As for my Macro thoughts on the speech, it did nothing to dissuade me from ‘Patriots in Control’ Narratives/theories, and actually bolstered a few of them, which we’ll probably discuss in greater detail tonight on the Devolution Power Hour.
Biden spent the first half of his speech touting MAGA and America First, Trumpian policies to the seeming delight of his liberal colleagues before spiraling into the usual identity politics, COVID and climate-mongering drivel in the second half.
While none of us are happy to see Biden on any prominent stage that Donald Trump should be occupying, the fact that our true POTUS was comfy cozy, commenting on the whole affair along with the rest of us last night lends confidence that Biden is helping—knowingly or not—to push the Overton Window increasingly in the direction of Trumpism ahead of its return to the public stage.
