If you have the time look up the oil train derailment and fire in Bellingham, Washington in December of 2020. That train was tampered with causing the train to come in two and rear end itself. To my knowledge they have not identified any suspects in that case.
Also look up the arrest of two people who were “shunting” rail in Bellingham causing trains to be delayed with the possibility of causing head on collisions.They were both charged with domestic terrorism I believe. If that’s happening on my territory then it’s certainly happening in other places. I would say incidents like those two are not widely reported for fear of copycats and the ease at which railways can be tampered with.

PSR leads to railroads running longer trains and reducing maintenance to track to improve their operating ratio. PSR has been going on for years now and I think we are starting to see the effects of neglecting maintenance and the consequences of the railroads not investing capital back into their systems.”
“The 2nd part to Ohio I believe is the inadequate training of the first responders involved. I’m not blaming them but they were definitely not trained how to handle a situation like this. It sounds like they were unaware of the seriousness of the chemicals that were being transported and the possible interactions of multiple chemicals being released at once. Purposely igniting a rail car of flammable liquid to keep it from exploding may work if you are only dealing with flammable liquids. But add flammable liquids AND inhalation hazard gasses such as chlorine together and well… you see the results.”

On my railroad this would have been considered a “key train” because of all the hazmat on board. Key trains are required to follow different rules than normal trains, such as slower speeds, less crossing over in sidings, and are not allowed to stage in populated areas. I’m hearing the Norfolk Southern did not consider this a key train which is absurd but would allow them to keep the train moving at a faster speed.”

The most common would be the barring on the axles went out creating friction until the axles burn through that barring causing the axle to fall out derailing the car.“

East Palestine resident Eric Whiting worries about the value of his home and the towns’ lost livelihoods after the train derailment.
EXCLUSIVE: Former President Trump will travel to East Palestine, Ohio next week to visit the area and members of the community as they grapple with the aftermath of the train derailment that led to a large release of toxic chemicals, Fox News has learned.
A source familiar with the former president’s plans told Fox News that Trump plans to travel to East Palestine on Wednesday to meet with members of the community.
The source said Trump, who announced his 2024 presidential campaign in November, has a strong relationship with the people of Ohio.

Trump’s planned visit comes after a train derailment on Feb. 3, when about 50 cars on a Norfolk Southern Railroad train carrying vinyl chloride derailed in East Palestine, Ohio, a small community that is located along the Ohio-Pennsylvania border.
The company opted to release the gas from the derailed cars, releasing potentially deadly fumes and other dangerous chemicals into the air, to prevent a disastrous explosion. Local residents were told to evacuate the area during the release, but were assured it was safe to return on Feb. 9.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine requested HHS and CDC assistance on Feb. 16, after being denied aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA told DeWine Ohio isn’t eligible for disaster assistance, even amid the derailment.
A White House official told Fox News Digital on Friday that FEMA, the agency that usually provides relief to communities hit by hurricanes and other natural disasters, isn’t best equipped to support the state’s current needs.
