The Rule of 72 applies here. Waiting 72 hours before making a judgement and jumping to conclusions without the facts is careless.
So I’m posting this with a cautionary note that one thing indisputable is this: the government failed at all levels. Fire hydrants had no water, warning sirens were not sounded, children had been sent home from school because of heavy winds, and the governor is blaming the fire on climate change. Lots of thing in play here, without pointing to a single point failure. Unless of course, we point a finger at inept, incompetent, and stupid government bureaucrats.

Last January of 2023 there was a Smart City Conference in Maui to turn Maui in an entire smart city ISLAND. Pushing everything electric and making 15 minute smart cities. Lastly there was a contract last year that was signed to build high rise condos and businesses in Lahaina.. which was a historical town that couldn’t have any new development done to it.. but now?
