Save a horse, ride a … oh wait, wrong song.

Damn, can’t find that one song. I really like ‘Wildfire’ but that’s not where I wanted this to go.
Anyway, we could go back to the 19th century and go for a reboot on our transportation methods.
I love horses, owned a few over the years. They’re smarter than cars, especially ‘smart’ cars. They’re simple to feed and actually simple to maintain if one understands their needs.
They only use one set of shoes at a time (technically two pair … to shod four hooves).
They have a much better and keener ability to sense the emotional state of humans than most humans do.
Treat them like you want to be treated. They believe in “Do unto others … “.
If treated properly they can become quite responsive in a positive way, unlike the ‘roll of the dice’ with some humans.
One of the few drawbacks is they could care less where they relieve themselves. Even going through the middle of town in the annual parade they can release huge piles of very, very smelly stuff.
A positive to that is said waste can be used for fertilizer … all natural, no harmful man-made chemicals. Can that be said for vehicle waste?
Humans often complain about the cost of having them. Those silly humans don’t think (operative two words) about the comparison to their own vehicle costs when that statement is made. Is there a recent maintenance cost comparison study?
Is it that important to be in a hurry?
They are much cheaper to feed if one owns land (or has access to land) that has open fields where grass grows and they can be turned out to find what they want to eat. Buying ‘hay’ can become quite costly, but along with gasoline, the prices can fluctuate.
Sometimes, if you scratch the right spot on the underside of their neck ( between their chest and their jaws ) the horse will lift its’ head up a little and its’ lips will quiver (this is where if they could moan they would). Can vehicles respond that way?
They have a much keener sense of impending danger, unlike most humans … can your vehicle sense the presence of a predator or an approaching storm?
People will do outrageous things to get attention. Get rid of cars and trucks and go get your horse. Giddyup.
How many hundreds if not thousands of years did we do just fine without cars.
Kinda similar to the cellular phone. Instead of making life easier these things make life much more difficult.
If I had my choice I’d give up my truck for a horse.
Have any of you ever heard, “High, ho, Silver, awaaaaaay!”?

Oh, I love horses. Didn’t get to have one but we had a mule that we loved anyway. I went to the 4H fairs and rodeo and loved on horses as much as possible. They seem to have a soul, IMO Let’s just build us some communities where we can ride horses everywhere.. no cars on the road. We can carry our pistols for protection and have barn dances and hay rides and live simply yet protect our territory! You could be Sheriff, Mr L.
I know that song:
I’ve been to the desert on a horse with no name.. it felt good to be out of the rain. In the desert they don’t remember your name and there ain’t no one gonna give you no pain. …Lalala lalalala.. lalalalala. 🎼🎸🐎
