Joe Lange Re Tariffs

Posted today on X:

Reality check.

This court hasn’t stopped anything.

“US court blocks Trump from imposing the bulk of his tariffs”

“A federal court on Wednesday ruled that President Donald Trump overstepped his authority to impose sweeping tariffs that have raised the cost of imports for everyone from giant businesses to everyday Americans.”

Do you really think this is the FINAL say on Trump’s tariffs?

How many times do lower courts have to get overturned and slapped down, before you realize what is actually happening here?

Which court made this ruling?

“A three-judge panel at the US Court of International Trade, a relatively low-profile court in Manhattan, stopped Trump’s global tariffs that he imposed citing emergency economic powers, including the “Liberation Day” tariffs he announced on April 2. It also prevents Trump from enforcing his tariffs placed earlier this year against China, Mexico and Canada, designed to combat fentanyl coming into the United States.”

Did you catch that?

“A three-judge panel at the US Court of International Trade, a relatively low-profile court in Manhattan”

Do you really think a three judge panel from a “low-profile” court in Manhattan, has the power to stop the president of the United States from carrying out his agenda?

What did Trump IMMEDIATELY do?

Did he panic?

No.

“But the administration immediately appealed the decision on Wednesday night, leaving the situation uncertain for consumers and companies and potentially prolonging the battle over whether Trump’s import duties will stand – and possibly reshape the global economy.”

Trump IMMEDIATELY appealed the decision to a HIGHER court?

Why do people keep panicking over what some lower court does, especially when they continually lose against Trump at the HIGHEST COURT?

This “lower court” has ALREADY lost this appeal and the reason why they will lose, was in the earlier part of this story.

“Trump’s global tariffs that he imposed citing “emergency economic powers”

Trump used his “emergency powers” under the constitution, in order to enact these tariffs.

And guess what?

Trump keeps declaring “emergencies” because that is his constitutional power alone and he doesn’t need to ASK the courts permission to act in resolving the “emergency.”

Trump actually WELCOMES these legal lawsuits.
I keep telling people that flipping the courts was a high priority in Trump’s first term, especially the Supreme Court.

A few judges around the country aren’t going to change the fact that Trump is going to keep implementing his agenda.

Why does Trump WELCOME all these lawsuits?

Because when the Supreme Court slaps down these lower courts, it sets PRECEDENT for the future generation of presidents.

Trump is protecting the president’s constitutional powers by winning these court fights.
It’s a huge safeguard for our future.

But guess who joined in this lawsuit?

“The lawsuit was filed by the libertarian legal advocacy group Liberty Justice Center in April”

cnn.com/2025/05/28/bus…

What are the odds that Trump’s biggest critic lately, and someone who claims to be a libertarian, was encouraging this lawsuit against Trump?

This seems to have Rand Paul’s fingerprints all over it.
He’s the clown that said Trump didn’t have the constitutional power to raise tariffs. He said “that power” rests with Congress, which is why he insists on calling tariffs a tax.

But Rand is about to get another education in the Constitution, when the Supreme Court sides with Trump and Congress finds out, that they can’t stop Trump’s tariffs or “emergency powers” either.
