White Rabbit
Jefferson Airplane

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she’s ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you’re going to fall
Tell ’em a hookah-smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
He called Alice
When she was just small
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you’ve just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she’ll know
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen’s off with her head
Remember what the dormouse said
Feed your head
Feed your head
Listen to Gracie Slick who wrote the song. Takes on a whole new meaning, doesn’t it?

Know what’s odd? I put the question several ways to google and got AI replies and/or the still common list of websites.
The Donnie and Marie show is said to have lasted only until 1979.
Yet a couple of items show this clip as dated in 1998.
I don’t think they had a show as late as 1998.
But whatever. It’s a revealing discussion.
Got me curious Pony….so I searched a bit myself and found this link….I don’t recall it at all since I never really watched TV much…….maybe you remember this?

We were all so oblivious and naive……really CLUELESS…..I’m in the 1st of the baby boomers generation so I know whereof I speak…..growing up from the mid 40’s to become a voting adult in the late 60’s we saw the whole thing unfold…..EVERY popular song then, and BOY weren’t the GREAT?! LITERALLY told a story that we all understand NOW….so WEIRD and other worldly isn’t it?? Alice in Wonderland is mentioned alot by “Q”…….feels like we’ve really gone FULL circle…..
I had my mom (90) and my dad (91) listen/read/watch this and the video on YouTube of the Woodstock performance. My mom said – ‘I never understood the lyrics nor thought of this issues that way’. They were so trusting of our government. They were born/raised/worked at West Point at the military academy as I was. It was so hard to realize the foundation you were brought up to believe in was so false and corrupt. Reading the Weird Scenes at Laurel Canyon brought back many memories for me and my brother. My aunt was one of the first to be struck with Lyme disease…to find out now that it was purposeful makes me sick. We lost friends to suicide, abuse you name it. Military kids were so screwed up. Not many came out of the West Point experience unscathed. Waiting for Jesus.
