Bush=Conservative. Not.

The crew at I Own The World is having a food fight over something Barbara Bush said about Sarah Palin the other night on Larry King’s show. I can’t say I blame them for their dislike of the Bush family.  As time goes on, I’m liking the Bushies less and less too.

Think about it… the only time we’ve seen “free enterprise” W since this fiasco of a president was elected has been when he’s out there hawking his book. Don’t ask him about Obama’s policies and the fact that O’s leading us over a socialist cliff, cause he ain’t sayin’ a word.  Nope.  Wouldn’t be prudent. (Oh wait, that was HW’s line… well, like father like son).  But unlike her frat boy son who won’t say $^&* about Obama,  his Ma can’t keep her mouth shut about Palin..  Blue blood country-club Repubs…

Be sure to read the comments — there were 44 of them at last count.

Oh, and Dan Riehl has a few things to say to Babs too.  So do his readers. Like this one:

“Did either Bush make any comment about Obama in 2008? Or do they save their knives for backs of Republicans?”

  1. One royal family jealous of being replaced by another royal family. Yet it is these people who are flushing the country.

  2. There’s a gentlemen’s agreement that ex-presidents do not disparage their successors’ performance. Carter (you can decide for yourself whether he’s a gentleman) ignored this because his thoughts and views are too important to be tempered with respect and decency. President Reagan kept to it, except during the odd Republican National Convention speech (and even there he was upbeat and fair) and even Clinton for the most part refrained from tearing into President George W. Bush unless Clinton was defending his poor record – which needs LOTS of defending unless you work in media, education or government. Both President Bush I and II are gentlemen and they stick to the gentleman’s agreement. Obama no doubt will attack his successors with the same whiny, insecure, personal attacks he wields now. Finally, say what you will about President Bush II’s presidency (and I think he made some huge mistakes, especially at the end of his tenure), he did what he thought was right, regardless of the politics or what the public thought of him. And Jeb is awesome, a true conservative! He’d make a fantastic candidate if he could be convinced to step into the fire his brother endured for eight long years.

  3. I think Mrs. Bush’s comments were just plain catty. It’s not the first time she’s said something catty about someone. But I happen to LIKE Sarah Palin. She’s no less ready than Obummer was to be president and has a sight more experience than he did. She can’t do much worse. If she runs and picks a good running mate, she would have my vote for sure. Some say that her resigning from the governor’s office was a mistake, but looking at it from her standpoint, I think she chose wisely for the state of Alaska’s sake. No one was going to let her get anything done from that point on so why bother.
