But now, the company appears to be walking back and retreating from their statements, perhaps in response to backlash against its leftist activism.
After leaders such as Donald Trump and Rand Paul urged people to reconsider giving their money to Coca-Cola, the company told the Washington Examiner that it wants to find “common ground” and have conversations about election reform.
The corporation also did not sign onto a recent open letter that once again broadly condemned basic voter election integrity laws.
“We all should feel a responsibility to defend the right to vote and to oppose any discriminatory legislation or measures that restrict or prevent any eligible voter from having an equal and fair opportunity to cast a ballot,” the statement said.
