  1. Patience young Jedis… and it’s not been easy, but a “clean shot” [in hunting] is well worth the wait.
One time, my son was bow hunting from his tree stand and some deer were quietly feeding below him. They didn’t present themselves for a good shot and moved off. He waited and waited and was contemplating climbing down from his stand as it was getting late in the afternoon and the light was fading. He noticed two good sized bucks grazing in the distance heading towards him. When they got within bow shot, he set his compound bow and continued to wait. The deer came closer. And closer. And closer. The sun had just set and the day was coming to a close with the last light before dusk settled in. The deer finally came to the clearing that gave my son a “perfect” opportunity to shoot. But the deer weren’t standing so that he could get a clean shot. He knew that with darkness about to shroud the forest, he had to make an accurate shot so the deer would fall and not run. He waited, barely breathing, he pulled his bow string to his cheek. He waited and hoped the buck would position himself for the arrow to penetrate its heart and drop him where he stood. His arm was beginning to hurt from being frozen in place, waiting. The minutes passed excruciatingly slowly. He concentrated on the buck. The deer took two or three steps and was standing perfectly in place.
My son made a “bleep” sound so the buck would hold his position and look up.
Silently, the bowstring was released, the arrow flew straight and true. There was no sound as the deer 🦌 buckled and went down.
The other buck looked up but then continued feeding.
My son was pumped with adrenaline. He said he was shaking with excitement. He could barely believe it. He’d made a perfect shot.

He was bringing home venison to feed his family.

Patience. All the inconvenience and pain are forgotten when the adrenaline rush comes.
