I had just finished writing and publishing my post on Maine’s tyrannical leftist governor (D) and the ongoing battle to keep Calvary Chapel in Bangor open (https://radiopatriot.net/2021/11/20/yet-another-reason-for-maine-to-rid-itself-of-tyrannical-governor/) when I read this post by Seth Keshel (on Telegram). Divine intervention? Coincidence? You decide.

It is essential we teach history to our young, and brush up on it ourselves if older

ALL of this crap we are dealing with today has been attempted before. History has had its problems, and has had its heroes, all wrapped up in a different flavor.

I asked the waitress at the chowder house in Maine yesterday if she knew who Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain was.

She said “he works here I think.”

Chamberlain was from Maine and actually one of the heroes of the battle of Gettysburg and the entire Civil War.

No judgment to this person, but how do we expect society at large to know the issues of our day are not actually new, from a world history perspective, when we don’t even know our local heroes? Imagine Texans not knowing who Sam Houston or William B. Travis were.

History is indeed the most important subject we can master.

Recommend to start for American history?

This book by my friend, Prof. Larry Schweikart:

The drone got a look at Kittery, Maine, yesterday… after a massive bowl of chowdah, talking about the Red Sahhhx.

It was wicked smaht.

NOTE: Some comments from Seth Keshel’s post:

~Wallbuilders and Hillsdale College offer free online history lessons

~For anyone with children in public schools, they are being taught (in my state) that 1/6 was an insurrection. It’s already printed in teacher prof dev training books and included in curriculum. Taking back our schools, school committee boards and educating our children with the truth is critical.

~The real steal started at the beginning of the last century when the cabal successfully transformed school curricula from facts and faith based to feelings and self esteem. It’s hard to blame her or todays children. Removing history has been going on for a long time.

~Well said Seth! Without a strong foundation & thorough understanding of our History, both close geographically, & as a Nation generally, we are robbed of our birthright personally.

~Yes, we have a generation of children who do not know the history of our country 😥

~”10 years to grow a tree. 100 years to grow a human generation” Chinese proverb.

We wasted last 50 years… therefore the consequence …

~Joshua Chamberlain (and the great heros of his unit, the 20th Maine!)  not only help hold the flank of the entire Union Army that day on Little Round Top, but Chamberlain  continued to humbly serve as a general despite a serious groin wound.  Piss a professor off and that’s what happens!

~We live 25 miles west of Gettysburg.   When we were in Maine we went to his museum and walked through the university he was affiliated with.

~Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it

~We are literally living in a remedial history lesson.

~My wife and I were raised in Maine in the 60’s and 70’s. We were taught actual history before the It was taken over by the government. We were blessed. Been in Texas since 1980. Maine is a great state to be from.
