Yes, I like Kyle’s perspective, but I don’t think this is about corruption. Russia has invaded a sovereign nation, in an unprovoked attack. It doesn’t even matter what Putin’s motives might be – no nation has the right to invade another sovereign country. Putin has already killed over 400, including civilians. After a couple days pause, he has brought in reinforcements and escalated the conflict. He has already committed war crimes with the use of cluster bombs, and thermobaric vacuum bombs, that kill indiscriminately and vaporize people. Those weapons are banned under the Geneva Convention. An author who is an expert on Putin (can’t remember her name), said that Putin uses “strategic deception” in everything he does. The guise of negotiations is a good example, while there is a 40-mile convoy currently headed for Kyiv.
The idea some are suggesting that Russia is liberating Ukraine, could not be further from the truth IMO. Ukraine has been a “free” nation for 30 years. Russia is a dictatorship. Dictators never free other nations. The Ukrainians are fighting for their freedom and their right to exist as a sovereign nation. Putin has been planning this for many years. After taking Georgia and Crimea, Ukraine was the next step. I doubt if he stops there, unless he is stopped by outside forces.
Yes, there is corruption in Ukraine, but you don’t eliminate corruption by attacking a country. There is no justification for one country invading another sovereign nation – certainly not as a means to oust corruption. Even if someone buys the theory that Putin is on a noble mission, he has overplayed his hand, and made a catastrophic error in judgement. He has already lost the battle of worldwide public opinion. He’s toast from here on out, no matter what he does next. He has united the entire world against him, including NATO. The entire reason NATO was formed in the first place after WWII was for collective security, for just such an occurrence as this. Putin has been demanding that NATO not accept Ukraine into the NATO alliance. Even people in Putin’s own country Russia, are demonstrating against him, which carries a charge of treason.
As far as Pres Trump is concerned, he could not be clearer in his statements condemning Putin, prior to CPAC. There was no ambiguity whatsoever in his remarks. He believes that the gross incompetence of the debacle of the Afghanistan withdrawal, emboldened Russia & China, and that what Putin is doing, should never have happened. If Pres Trump were to ever condone or advocate for what Putin is doing, either covertly or directly, it would be the kiss of death for Trump’s political future IMO.
Some might say, Pres Trump is putting out disinfo with his remarks. I don’t think so. He has built his entire relationship with the American people, on truth, and speaking truth to power. His new social media platform is called “Truth.” Whenever he doesn’t want to directly answer a question (such as questions on devolution) he says, he is not a liberty to say. But when he answers directly in a forthright manner, he is telling the truth. If Trump were ever to violate that trust with the American people on an issue of major importance, he would lose all credibility.

You also think that NATO and the EU are the good guys.

Putin was actually the only one fighting against the cabal before Trump.
The cabal has purposely painted him as evil and an enemy when all he’s tried to do is protect his people from the global cabal.
