Lock and load patriots
My grandparents were Democrats and they lived a good life on a farm. They displayed flags & stickers and were so happy when it was “Election Day”. My grandmother worked the polls for years. She also had all the plates with each President’s face on them.
There were no riots I ever heard of nor the KKK. Just God and country loving people.
This was in the 60’s. I can’t imagine the sadness they would have seeing this movie we are in today.
My granddaddy helped build the local church, worked the fields of cotton. Went to church every time the doors were open. We all miss them and are grateful for their example. Americans who were not rich but loved life. I forgot to mention they had a reunion of both sides of the families on the 4th of July. And you should have seen the decorations everywhere and on some of the food.
God blessed us with this couple and their simple ways. I know millions have similar stories & you can’t help but wonder what day, what year did it begin to change and here we are today. My prayer is that we get at least some of that peace back.
