2, Economic collapse.

With Congress packed full of idiots, ancient Janet Yellen at the helm of Treasury, and oatmeal brains in the D.C. Senior Center the future of our economy doesn’t look well, and that’s an understatement.

Nuclear disaster. 

More of our enemies now than ever before have nuclear weapons, including China and Iran. Some of those nuclear missiles have been designed to be transported and fired from simple shipping containers. So, yeah.

Power grid failure. 

Very recent reports say China already has in place people in our country (thanks to the traitor Mayorkas) and necessary implements to attack our national power grid, reportedly Xi has spoken about it publicly very recently.

Cyber attack. 

Watch ‘Monkey Werx’ on Youtube, Tuesdays and Thursdays. He’s in the DFW area and usually posts mid-to-late afternoon EST He has applications where he shows military and civilian flights being tracked and cyber activity worldwide. Informative. Pretty cool. And amazing.

PREPARATION

If you have extended family that lives close try to make a plan so that all know what to do, where to go to meet if necessary and coordinate gear and supplies. Consider walkie-talkies, especially if the power grid is out, plus extra batteries if they use those versus built-in batteries that require 120 VAC to charge. If you can afford it satellite phones are supposed to be the best for communicating – they don’t require the power grid for use, but since they do use batteries extras should be considered. They do not utilize cell towers, they use low orbit satellites.

If you enjoy (or plan to) camping and have some gear, that’s a start. Depending on where you live weather is one of the major influences on what is used, also if you have family members, which obviously is a major influence:

— tent(s)

— rope and or paracord

— weather appropriate clothing & footwear, at least one change + extra socks

— necessary sleeping gear (blankets. sleeping bags, ground cover tarp (that could be used for cover or simple tent), emergency blanket (Mylar)

— water treatment tablets like MIOX, survival water filter like Sawyer or Lifestraw, there are many

— cooking/eating utensils

— as many flashlights as you might have to carry, plus batteries

— at least one form of something to heat/cook food (there is an unlimited number of different items that can be used, from a simple hiker folding ‘stove’ that uses twigs and branches for fuel to alcohol stoves to portable propane/kerosene stoves as what Coleman makes, which means carrying propane canisters

— some form of lighting a fire/stove, as simple as a Bic disposable lighter to magnesium fire starters (like on the ‘Naked and Afraid’ show)

— a first aid kit which could include typical household first aid items and items which may be needed if there is a major injury such as blood clotting powder (Blood Stop), a splint (which could be improvised) and hot/cold packs. A pain killer like aspirin, tylenol or ibuprofen plus any personal medications, vitamins and supplements needed

— a good compass, at least one multi-purpose knife plus maybe a larger blade knife, hatchet, maybe even a machete

— paper maps (there are possible events that would cause cell phones to not work … yep, that means no Gaggle Maps)

That’s the basics for ‘bugging out’. There are too many variables to address right now, modify to personal preference. If you have to pack it all in a back pack and carry it on your back you don’t want excessive weight. If our antiquated national power grid is attacked you won’t be pumping gas. You would be absolutely floored if you knew how bad it’s condition is in.

With all of the Muslims illegally coming across our southern border there’s a serious threat of terrorist attacks. Those could be organized groups or lone attackers. There’s no way to know where they will attack or when. How many are there? Hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Add to that the possibility of them being armed by the Senora cartel. They’re already here.

If you own a firearm consider making sure you have enough ‘freedom seeds’. Check to make sure your state doesn’t track your ammo purchases. If they do only buy 2-3 boxes at a time. For “target shooting”. Right?

Options that should be considered:

— gas mask(s)

— chemical protection suit(s) – there are videos on Youtube that show how to make them using Tyvec, a protective material that is commonly used in building/renovating homes, and duct tape

Financial

There are almost as many opinions about this as there are people. Use awareness and common sense. At this time our paper money is losing value and has no backing. Our President will be reversing what Nixon did and bring back our currency being backed by gold.

In the mean time, if you are financially well off the best thing you can do is buy gold. Actual gold that you can hold in your hands. The value of gold has lasted many millennia and it’s constantly increased. The value is the highest it’s ever been. I’m not in the ‘financially well off’ group and for a couple of decades I have bought silver coins and bars in small increments – I’m a little ahead of the curve and I’m satisfied I did the right thing.

If you are able and feel the need, one option for where to stash your gold could be in a 4″ PVC tube and bury it someplace. Making one isn’t that complicated … actually it’s relatively easy. How-to videos should be on Youtube.

If you have to leave your house and ‘bug out’ you might want to have some cash, small denominations and a few larger ones stashed someplace that is not in your wallet. If possible have some silver coins, generic non-collectable ones, to use for bartering or purchase of needed items while you’re traveling.

Home food supplies

I think it would be safe to have a years’ worth of food in your pantry. A huge amount of food sold in the U.S. is over-regulated. ‘Best used by’ dates is required by regulation, but doesn’t mean it goes bad the day after that date. There are preservatives in almost all of the common canned foods that you have to be a chemist to understand the contents. If a can is swollen that’s the main indicator of bacteria growth and you don’t want to eat it. Canned foods can last – and stay good – for years past the ‘best by’ date.

Dry goods such as rice and beans can be stored indefinitely if done correctly – cool, dry, not in sunlight. There are companies such as ‘My Patriot Supply’ that sell freeze dried foods that they guarantee has a 25 year shelf life, as some other companies do. Another is Mountain House, which I think is at the high end price-wise. Most of those companies make their meal kits to provide around 2000 calories per day. Much of what the meals are is starch/carb based — rice, noodle or potato based entrees. There are also soups, cereals, eggs, butter powder, sour cream powder, puddings, powdered milk, drinks, etc.

You may not need food that lasts 25 years … you might only needit for a few months. The next 9-10-11 months look a bit rocky, but at this point, no one knows and anything is possible. With what the Kenyan and the deep state has been doing, and it’s all been increasing, don’t think it’s not likely. That’s reality.

— Rotate your stores, use oldest first

— Do not broadcast that you’ve stocked up. IF things go sideways you don’t want to give people a reason to try to take it from you — and they will try. If our power grid goes down, gas can’t be pumped and the grocery stores will likely be stripped of everything … guess where people will go. Don’t think it isn’t possible.

Home

Security is important, if not critical especially if you have a family. There are some decent alarm systems that are, or were, reasonably priced. DO NOT get a security item or system that depends on ‘smart’ ANYTHING. If the power grid goes out it’s useless plastic. Battery powered items are available, possibly at a hardware store, definitely Amazon. I have a door wedge alarm, battery powered that’s decades old and still works. Got it through Amway.

If you aren’t one of the four million new firearm owners in 2023 you should seriously consider it. If you live in a blue state there are work-arounds. If you live in most red states count your blessings … I live in the marxist empire of New Yorkistan.

Conclusion

This is quite condensed. I could write a book about this, but I will not … there are tons available.

I have been building my food storage like I have with silver, a little at a time. IF you’re like the average person the thought of buying all of those supplies could be mind boggling and overwhelming. Hopefully you have some of what you would need if SHTF.

If you shop at a local grocery it would be wise to keep your ‘supply’ purchases minimal, you don’t want to draw attention. Add a little every trip.

As much as I hate giving my money to Amazon and Jeff Bezos it’s probably the best for much of what I’ve mentioned with huge, varied selections and options.

I stumbled across Woot, which I believe is an arm of Amazon, and a lot of what they market most of the time is marked down from Amazon prices … some aren’t, so check Amazon for the item before buying on Woot. I’ve bought some items on that site.

If you’re watching pennies don’t rush to buy from Amazon. They tinker with prices – all the time. Don’t buy on impulse – be patient. Watch an item – if I see something I’m interested in I will put it in my cart and watch for price changes. Join ‘Honey’ (a Paypal company) and you can select to be alerted for a price change. I knew I would be making quite a few purchases on Amazon and calculated that it was worth joining/paying for Amazon Prime – shipping is free and I’m well ahead on the difference. Plus I don’t have to burn gas driving my Dodge Ram 1500 large V8.

If you want to buy any of the ‘camping’ gear at a store go to Cabela’s or Bass Pro. DO NOT go to Dick’s – I’ll just say their business practices are progressive left. On that note I hate ebay with a passion, but it’s an option. Be picky and only go for fixed price, unless you have a truckload of patience. Go for “Make offer” listings and be aware of shipping charges.
