New York has always been one of my favorite cities in the world.
There’s something magical about this place.
The energy. The swagger.
Only politicians hurt this place.
Two simple stories.
1. Our carriage driver started asking me about politics.
I responded and said who are you voting for.
Since he knew my ideas he felt comfortable opening up.
Most of the carriage drivers just want to work. He said under during COVID they all lost 50% of their income because the city shut down.
He didn’t care about politics.
He didn’t want entitlement programs.
He didn’t want anything for free.
He just wanted his politicians to allow them to work for the money.
2. Jennifer and I used to go to the Plaza hotel where we would go to the basement to shop for the kids at this store called “Eloise”.
We asked the security how to get to the basement.
He said the shops & eateries have all pretty much closed down since March of 2020.
Eloise was there on the main floor but much smaller with fewer options.
A great city filled with ambitious, competitive people who were forced to shut down due to terrible policies passed by Weak politicians.
I’d love to see a new layer of leaders in NY to rise up and get involved in politics to re-energize, defend and protect small business owners.
Future looks bright!
