I was a DA Civ for 26 years. We did have some dead weight but most of the people I worked with were hard working. I took an early out during the Obama admin in 2012. I can’t speak to what has happened since then. I will say I watched contracting out happen and KPMG move into our office. One of the KPMG higher-ups college age daughter was assigned to our group. Most of the time she sat at her desk and did her homework. Our group finally had a coup and had her removed. I had a friend, who after 20 years of military service, retired and went to work for KPMG. After a couple of months he quit. He said he was required to participate in late night conference calls where they would be required to suggest areas where KPMG could expand/replace government workers. His conscience got the better of him. The basic issue with contractors is their loyalty is to the company – not the constitution.
There are definitely 2 sides to this. Tens of thousands of honest, hard working people are losing their livelihoods due to this DOGE (Department of Grotesque Egomaniacs) purge. Reminds me of Stalin. I prayed for 4 years for Trump to return to the White House. What a sucker I was. Whatever else he may accomplish will be completely overshadowed by this reckless, irresponsible, and likely illegal action. Trump and Musk have teamed up to hand back both houses of congress to the Ds on a silver platter. They might as well concede the 2026 midterms now. And their first order of business will be articles of impeachment which will likely succeed this time. And they have virtually guaranteed that we will never see a Republican in the White House again after this. I don’t know if I can post a link here but someone sent me an article from Bear Brief, 24 Feb 2025 “The deluge of massive, sweeping, often illegal or unconstitutional changes rolling out of the Trump administration continues. Since Donald Trump took office in January, over 200,000 federal worker roles have been culled across over a dozen agencies. On top of that, about 75,000 federal workers have accepted buyouts.” And “Yes, the workers impacted are not just people hired in the last two years—highly skilled workers including literal rocket scientists and chemists have been affected by these cuts. Moreover, the remaining workers across these various agencies are forced to do more with less. Warnings of this “brain drain” of technical expertise across these agencies continue to grow, and since the US is in competition with China, this is an issue that expands beyond just federal employees and their families. In the words of a former National Science Foundation employee, “It will reduce our ability to maintain any leadership in the international landscape.” One current NASA worker said that the agency was “losing people with tremendous amounts of experience.” One NSF employee worried that the agency could be “crippled in a way that may be unrecoverable. We can’t do this work with a computer, we need true expertise and human intelligence.” Meanwhile Trump has said, “We have escorted the radical-left bureaucrats out of the building and have locked the doors behind them. We’ve gotten rid of thousands.” There is more. This is serious stuff folks, not to be dismissed. I think every innocent victim of this insanity should band together in a massive class action lawsuit. If I were a lawyer I would represent them for free. I feel like I have been simultaneously stabbed in the back and punched in the gut. MAGA? America First? God help us!

Sorry if you were offended. I have been following you off and on for 4 years and have always been on your side. Don’t want to be your enemy but we need to look at things objectively, we can’t just whitewash things or pretend they don’t matter. The things I mentioned could have serious consequences. If my rant was over the top it is because of my frustration that we are as guilty as the democrats/liberals when we dismiss the truth in favor of the party line. I still pray that it is not too late. God’s blessings to you.
